Voluntary Children's Chemical Evaluation Program (VCCEP) Peer Consultation Meeting on n-Alkanes (Decane, n-Dodecane, & Undecane)

What:    n-Alkanes (Decane, n-Dodecane, & Undecane) VCCEP Peer Consultation
When:   September 14, 2004
Where:  University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, OH

A panel of scientists with expertise in toxicity testing, risk assessment, exposure assessment, and children’s health met on September 14, 2004 to conduct a peer consultation of a submission on n-Alkanes (n-dodecane, undecane, and decane).  The American Chemistry Council n-Alkanes VCCEP Consortium (Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP, Sasol North America, and Shell Chemical Company) prepared the submission for the Voluntary Children's Chemical Evaluation Program (VCCEP).  The purpose of the peer consultation meeting was to provide a science-based forum to determine whether the existing data are adequate to characterize the risks of n-alkanes to children, and, if not, to identify data needs.

A report that summarizes the panel discussions and the individual panel members’ conclusions is found below.  Note that panel members served as individuals and represented their own personal scientific opinions.  They did not represent their companies, agencies, funding organizations, or other entities with which they are associated.  The Peer Consultation Panel Meeting Report includes the List of Attendees, Meeting Materials (which contains the agenda, overview, panel charge, panelist biographical sketches and conflict of interest/bias disclosures and presenter biographical sketches), Public Comments, and Sponsor Presentation Slides.

The following are the original documents submitted by the sponsor for the panel's review:
